(G)I-DLE Launches Strong Legal Response to Sexually Edited Videos and Malicious Comments
Cube Entertainment has announced that it will take strict legal action in response to a series of maliciously edited videos, sexually harassing content, and defamatory comments targeting the members of (G)I-DLE.
On April 18, the agency released an official statement detailing the situation. According to Cube, edited clips of the members, taken from public appearances such as award shows, have been repeatedly manipulated and circulated online in inappropriate contexts. These materials have been accompanied by sexually offensive remarks, personal insults, and baseless speculation, constituting what Cube calls a clear criminal offense.
The agency stressed that these acts are not only illegal but are also serious violations of the members’ portrait rights, dignity, and personal reputation. Cube confirmed it is in the process of gathering evidence and preparing to proceed with both civil and criminal litigation. The company also made it clear that no leniency or settlements will be offered to those found responsible.
The controversy comes just weeks before (G)I-DLE’s full-group comeback scheduled for May, marking their return after individual promotions and a full group contract renewal with Cube in December 2023.

Regardless of whether the original footage was filmed in a public space, any act of malicious editing, distortion, and distribution, as well as the dissemination of false information or the posting of defamatory, sexually harassing, or insulting remarks, constitutes a clear criminal offense. These actions not only warrant criminal penalties but also represent serious violations of the artists’ portrait rights, reputation, and personal rights.
We are currently securing evidence related to these illegal postings and are in the process of preparing all available civil and criminal legal actions through our legal representatives. In particular, individuals responsible for the malicious distribution or circulation of such videos and defamatory comments will be held fully accountable to the fullest extent of the law, without any leniency or settlement.
We strongly urge all individuals involved in the production, dissemination, or consumption of such content to immediately remove all related posts and comments and to refrain from any further acts of infringement.
